Exterior designers have to follow crash regulation

The car’s interior plays a great role in the car’s success in the market, certainly more than the exterior. Over the years, we have seen a lot of great interior design and features, which have impressed almost everyone. In this article, we take a look back at some of the best and worst interiors.

Every keen driver takes immense interest and the car’s style, and where we spend a few minutes to observe the exterior, it takes hours to fully observe the interior. So, it’s not rocket science in which designers have the hardest job, while the exterior designers have to follow crash regulation, designing a pretty exterior is still easy. On the other hand, interiors need to be ergonomically sound and safe, look good, and feel good.

Today, we present a tribute to some of the magnificent interiors belonging to cars of today and past. You might have some picks of your own as well, but this is a list of what we loved.

First, we will talk about general interior ambiance, the expression you get from looking at an interior before getting too close. When you take the first glance at the interior, you can feel how the driving experience is going to be. It gives you an idea of what’s about to come. For us, the car that took this to another level is the Ferrari F40. As soon as you get and look for creature comfort, you realize there is none and you have to focus on the driving.

Next, come, the steering wheels, the interface between the driver and the vehicle. The smoothness of the driving mainly depends on the steering wheel, but many manufacturers fail to understand what matters the most in a smooth steering wheel. Our choice for this is McLaren 675LT.

Now we will talk about doors that come in different shapes and sizes. It’s one of the few parts of the interior that are used frequently, and that’s why they require some real effort. Our favorite pick here is Ferrari F40 and surprisingly, not much effort was required for this. For worst interior features over the years, Austin Allegro, Citroën GSA, and Alfetta GTV are on top of our list.
