Companies should consider reducing cars’ size

In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in the cars’ size and weight. Almost, every company has followed this trend, but now we think maybe it’s time to put an end to this trend and return the cars’ size and weight to normal.

Every vehicle owner goes through a time when he or she wishes that the car they are driving was smaller. Whether when they have to park the car in a small garage, park in the narrow parking lot, or drive through a narrow street. If you have faced this, you must have realized how big modern cars are, as compared to the old ones.

The large size is a concern for many drivers and now the debate is going on about unnecessary increases in the size of the vehicles. The experts are questioning, for how long this trend would be followed and when it would be stopped. If you look at any vehicle, you would see that its current model is wider and longer than its old model. It can be seen in Range Rover, Volkswagen Polo, and BMW 5 Series, to name a few.

The vehicles’ sizes and weights need to be reduced for plenty of reasons, but before that, there are certain things that need to be changed. The most common argument by the manufacturers regarding the increase in the size and weight of the vehicle is it’s been done to make the vehicles safe. Now, we can’t argue that safer vehicles are the best vehicles, but it shouldn’t be done at the expense of the car’s size. They need to evolve the technology, and they certainly will that would allow them to add security features without the need to increase size and weight.

People should be made aware of the impact that the large vehicles have on their wallets and the environment. Large vehicle means more emission, so once the public understands that the smaller vehicle can also be a safer vehicle and its good for the environment, they are more likely to purchase them.
